International Relations

International Relations (IR) is a field of study and practice that examines the interactions between sovereign states, as well as the roles of non-state actors, international organizations, and global issues in shaping political, economic, and social relations on a global scale. It encompasses various theoretical frameworks to analyze how countries and other entities interact, cooperate, and sometimes conflict. Key aspects of International Relations include diplomacy, conflict resolution, international security, trade relations, human rights, and global governance. The discipline draws from multiple social science fields, including political science, economics, sociology, and history, to understand the complexities of international affairs and inform policy-making. IR can also address transnational challenges such as environmental issues, terrorism, and pandemics, highlighting the interconnectedness of global society.
