Evil is a concept that typically refers to the absence of good or the presence of malevolence, harm, or wrongdoing. It is often characterized by actions, intentions, or characteristics that cause pain, suffering, or moral outrage. In philosophical and religious contexts, evil is frequently discussed in terms of moral dilemmas and the nature of human behavior. There are various interpretations of evil, ranging from it being an inherent quality of persons (moral evil) to actions that lead to physical harm or suffering (natural evil). The antithesis of good, evil can manifest in diverse forms, including selfishness, cruelty, injustice, and corruption.
